Yittrium-90 (Y-90) radioembolization

Y-90 radioembolization, also known as selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT), is a minimally invasive therapy that is especially effective for inoperable liver tumors.

If the procedure is used for your condition, a surgeon will maneuver a catheter into your liver artery where it will release a high dose of radioactivity designed to minimize tumor growth. It's used to treat primary and metastatic liver cancers. The procedure can add more than a year of life expectancy.
