Our GI cancer program

If you come to our Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center for gastrointestinal cancer care, we make sure you are getting the best possible treatment for your specific symptoms. A nurse navigator will walk with you through your cancer journey, while a GI specialist and multidisciplinary review team create an individualized care plan. Treatment for GI cancers may include advanced or minimally invasive surgery using innovative technology, such as our new endoscopic treatment machine or robotic surgery.

GI malignancy clinic trials

Our GI Malignancy Program physicians participate in multiple clinical trials for all stages of treatment, including chemoprevention, cure, control and palliation. Many of these trials are investigator-initiated trials, cooperative group trials or national trials offered locally only through our program.
