About HCA HealthONE Central Park ER

HCA HealthONE Central Park ER is an extension of HCA HealthONE Rose. Our Denver emergency room (ER) is staffed by board-certified physicians and specially trained nurses who are there to provide you the same services and level of urgent medical care that you would get at our main campus.

Features of our freestanding ER

The HCA HealthONE Central Park ER is open 24 hours a day, seven day a week for people of all ages. We are proud to offer the Central Park and Northeast Denver communities more opportunities to provide care, with on-site features, such as:

  • Comprehensive lab services
  • Dedicated pediatric entrance and waiting room
  • Short wait times
  • X-ray, computerized tomography (CT) and ultrasound

Additionally, as a part of the HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children's system of pediatric care, our ER team can quickly connect to the pediatric emergency physicians at the HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children's at Presbyterian St. Luke's by telemedicine at any time.


Frequently asked questions

We understand that as a freestanding facility, you may have questions about how we operate in comparison to our main hospital campus. Read on for answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.

Can I be told about pricing before treatment?

All emergency rooms are strictly regulated by the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (or EMTALA), a federal statute otherwise known as Section 1867(a) of the Social Security Act, within the section of the U.S. Code that governs Medicare.

EMTALA states that hospitals cannot provide financial information that may dissuade a patient from seeking care due to inability to pay. In short, if you come t our emergency room, we provide medical care, regardless of insurance or financial status (exceptions would only be due to EMTALA-directed guidelines, not a patient's ability to pay.)

In addition, at the registration desk, our staff is not able to provide an estimate of cost because you will have not yet been evaluated and diagnosed, with treatments not yet determined/administered. Also, out-of-pocket costs are dependent on insurance coverage and how much you have met your annual deductible, which is information our front desk registrars don't have.

Can you tell me over the phone if I need emergency care?

Unfortunately, due to EMTALA guidelines, we cannot triage or attempt to diagnose you over the phone. Phone calls do not constitute proper examinations and our staff are not licensed to do so. Feel free to call our nurse triage line at (888) 389-2755 to speak to a nurse who can help you decide whether you may need emergency or urgent care.

Do ambulances come to the ER?

Yes, and we are proud to be a resource for our local EMS providers. Just as at our main campus, we seek to provide a seamless transition of care for if you are arriving by ambulance. We also want to be good neighbors, and realize residential communities surround our location. We've shared this feedback with our EMS partners, and they strive to minimize disturbances caused by lights and sirens.

Do you provide urgent care services?

No. We are state licensed to operate only as an emergency room. The emergency services offered at our facility are the same as the services offered at our main campus.

How much does it cost to go to the ER?

The cost of a visit to any emergency room depends on a series of factors:

  • Diagnostics and treatments delivered, including your physician visit, but also lab work, radiology/imaging, prescriptions and any other tests and tools used for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Insurance coverage, including your plan's co-pay, any applicable co-insurance, as well as your deductible. We recommend you review your insurance coverage to better understand your financial responsibility for an ER visit.
  • Status of your condition

What happens if I need to be admitted to the hospital?

As a fully integrated department of our main hospital, if your treating physician determines that you require hospital admission, we will arrange for you to be transported directly by ambulance to an inpatient room. Your ER physician will provide information about your condition to the admitting physician before you arrive.

However, if you choose to be admitted to a hospital other than Rose and require ambulance transport, your insurance company will be billed by the ambulance company.

Will you take my insurance?

We take all major insurance, but you may call our insurance verification line at (804) 267-4000 to inquire about your specific insurance. This line's hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm EST. However, with the many specific nuances in insurance plans, we recommend you contact your insurance company to find out for sure. The insurance company would have the most up-to-date information about what your plan covers, such as in-network vs. out of network and co-pays.
