Orthopedic care

Orthopedic doctors, called orthopedists, take care of bones and joints. This includes knee pain, total joint replacement, issues that impact your spine and more. You might need to see an orthopedist if you have arthritis or osteoporosis, or if you've had a recent sprain, strain or broken bone.

Orthopedic surgery

Our orthopedic surgery program provides state-of-the-art technology and highly experienced specialists in a comfortable, convenient location close to where you live and work. Our orthopedic surgeons provide minimally invasive procedures, including those performed with the aid of a surgical robot. These techniques and related technology often lead to smaller incisions, less risk of complications, reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays and a faster return to activity.

You also benefit from specially trained, compassionate nurses and support staff who provide care before, during and after your procedure. Each member of our orthopedic surgery team is dedicated to high-quality, expert care — all with your fast, complete, healthy return to activity in mind.

Joint replacement surgery

While our team always begins with the least invasive, most effective treatment options, sometimes, the best treatment for hip, knee or shoulder problems is to replace the joint. Fortunately, positive outcomes are possible with less invasive methods than has typically been the norm.

If a joint replacement must be discussed, your orthopedic surgeon with first evaluate your joint to determine if a partial joint replacement or total joint replacement will be necessary. Then, during surgery, the team will replace the damaged components of the joint with an implant, alleviating pain and allowing you to get back to living your best life.

Our orthopedic team commonly performs:

  • Hip replacement
  • Knee replacement
  • Shoulder replacement

Rehabilitation and therapy

Your care doesn’t end when your surgery ends. Our team is committed to getting you all the way back to the life you love. A therapist from our physical therapy and rehabilitation program will begin working with you as soon as possible after surgery. Our orthopedic physical therapy team will continue to support you throughout your hospital stay and beyond, as needed. Our goal is to reduce pain, improve movement and get you back to your desired level of activity.

Preoperative education

When you are educated about your treatments and engaged in the care process, better outcomes abound.

Free classes before surgery

That’s why our team offers preoperative education classes for if you are undergoing spine surgery, as well as hip, knee and shoulder replacements. These free classes detail affected anatomy, preoperative exercises, pain management, discharge needs, equipment needs and home safety. They will help you learn about occupational and physical therapy, postoperative nursing care and precautions/limitations after surgery.

We recommend taking your preoperative class at least two weeks prior to surgery, while also encouraging family members and caregivers to be involved in the process.
