Medical professionals say frostbite can begin much faster than many people realize — sometimes in as little as 10 to 30 minutes — when skin is exposed to frigid temperatures.
“Anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes… it doesn’t take long for frostbite or frost nip to start,” said Lindsay DeSantis, a registered nurse and director of HCA HealthONE Burn and Reconstructive Services.
