Childbirth and parenting classes

Classes can begin at any time during your pregnancy. However, we recommend completing your maternity classes four to six weeks before your due date. Remember to register for classes early to ensure the classes you want are available.

All About Baby

All About Baby specifically addresses the first uncertain week at home with your newborn. The in-person class is designed to familiarize you with the characteristics of normal newborn behavior, appearance and baby care. Hands-on practice with diapering, bathing and swaddling are included. Infant CPR and breastfeeding are not included. Only the mom/parent-to-be needs to register.

Breast/Chestfeeding Basics

Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding Basics is a one-time class valuable to those who plan to breastfeed/chestfeed their babies. We provide a positive and safe setting to talk about breastfeeding/chestfeeding. In this class we will discuss the benefits of breastmilk, how milk is produced, feeding techniques and how to avoid common problems.

We also offer an Understanding Breastfeeding eClass. In this online class, you will learn all about breastfeeding and get to hear real experiences from breastfeeding moms—all from the comfort of your own home.

Childbirth Express

Childbirth Express is a one-day class that covers just the facts and is intended for those who want the basics or who are unable to attend the longer series. Please note that Cesarean birth and relaxation/breathing techniques are covered briefly. This class is held in person for mom/parent and her/their support person. Only mom/parent needs to register.

Childbirth Fast Track

Our convenient weekend session of Childbirth Fast Track will provide you with the knowledge to prepare for the choices you'll make during your childbirth experience. You and your partner will learn and practice life skills from our nationally certified childbirth instructors including relaxation, effective breathing, massage, positioning, stress management and coping skills. Other subjects include the joys and challenges of pregnancy, labor and how it progresses, medical procedures, interventions, pain management and Cesarean birth. Only the mother/parent-to-be needs to be registered.

Childbirth Preparation

The Childbirth Preparation Series consists of four classes, which take place over a period of four weeks. In this series, we will discuss comfort techniques, medical procedures and the stages of labor and delivery.

Understanding Infant and Child Safety

Our Understanding Infant and Child Safety eClass is an online class to help you learn how to keep your child safe beginning the day they are born. The class covers topics such as how to prevent accidents and how to be prepared for an emergency.
