Well-baby nursery
Rose Babies is home to a state-of-the-art well-baby nursery. Following delivery, some new parents don't want to let their newborn out of their sight, while others like to have time to rest and recuperate before heading home with their new baby. Our beautiful well-baby nursery is a place where your baby will be safe and comfortable while the family gets some rest. This space is secured and locked so you can rest assured that your baby is safe and being taken care by our experienced postpartum nurses.
This nursery also serves other purposes. If a family chooses to have the first newborn bath take place during their hospital stay, it will occur in the nursery. This is also where nightly weighing, any necessary testing, and other procedures will take place. There is a dedicated room for elective circumcisions.
Neonatal intensive care
For babies that need a little extra care after birth, we provide a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Our NICU was named the #1 NICU in HCA Healthcare for nursing excellence.
Safety for moms and babies
As Denver's "Baby Hospital," our smallest patients are our top priority. For the safety of our newborns and their parents, we offer the following safety measures:
- Each baby has an anklet that is monitored 24/7 and will trigger an alarm if tampered with or if your baby is taken outside the secure area
- You and your birthing partner will receive baby "bracelets"
- You are encouraged to accompany your baby for any procedures, such as weight checks
- Rooming in is highly encouraged so your baby is with you as much as possible
- All hospital staff are trained regularly on security procedures
- The entire floor is restricted and requires badge access
- There is always a security officer on duty
- All visitors are required to provide photo identification and to pass through a metal detector
- Security cameras are monitored at all times by security and the nurses' station
Postpartum mental wellness
Depression and anxiety are the most common complications after pregnancy. Parents of every culture, age, income level and race can develop perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Symptoms can appear at any time during pregnancy through the first 12 months after childbirth. If left untreated, symptoms can last for years, but effective treatment options are available. The sooner you get help, the sooner you will feel like yourself again. To learn more about symptoms and treatment options, visit the Postpartum Support International website and/or the Postpartum Support International directory to find a qualified perinatal mental health professional in your area and insurance network.
Urogynecology care
Our hospital offers excellent urogynecology care for post-pregnancy conditions, such as urinary incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse, which many women experience after childbirth. The gynecologists at our women's hospital offer effective and minimally invasive pelvic floor treatments and therapies. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable by educating you about your condition and helping you find relief from your symptoms.
