Testimonials
I was part of the start-up team and have been at Sky Ridge since our opening in 2003. Prior to that I worked at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Something that has impressed me the most about Sky Ridge is the Administrative Team’s engagement with all employees. They make an effort to get to know all their employees by name and take the time to hear their opinions and suggestions. I worked at Memorial for two and a half years and never met my department director, let alone anyone from administration. It has been my experience that there is a real family atmosphere here at Sky Ridge and all the HealthONE facilities. Patient care is the number one priority with employee satisfaction a close second. I still live in Colorado Springs and commute daily to Sky Ridge because it is worth the drive to be a part of this team.

I have worked for HealthOne for 21 years. For the past 11 years I have commuted from Colorado Springs to Denver, 1 hour each way. I am often asked, “Why?” My response, “I love my job.” I have seen HealthOne grow from a nonprofit to a for profit hospital system. With that change I noticed higher standards of care and improved safety measures put in place for our patients. We have access to best practices from hospitals all over the country. Our administration leads by example. They are open to ideas from the staff and willing to act on them. I have always felt part of a large team that cares for our patients. I appreciate the many ways we are acknowledged for a job well done. These are many of the reasons I choose to commute, but the main reason is the respect and support I receive from the CNO and the administrative team.

I was lucky enough to get a job in the HealthONE system 2 years ago. I work at Rose Medical Center and couldn’t be happier. Prior to Rose, I worked at Memorial Hospital for over 10 years. I have been impressed with the Rose culture, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, physician relations and how much the executive team cares about each employee. I have never seen a hospital system that has such extensive outreach and volunteer opportunities in the community as we do. It has been very touching and impactful to see how much giving back to the community takes place. HealthONE touches the lives of many!

Recently my daughter, a competitive gymnast, was suffering from sports related injury. I was referred to the to Dr. Pengal at the Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine Institute in Denver. We traveled from Colorado Springs to see Dr. Pengal. We have never received such complete and informative medical care. Not only did Dr. Pengal take the time to thoroughly exam my daughter and carefully review the x-rays but she took the time to explain her findings completely and simply to myself and my daughter. Dealing with a Dr. and staff that specializes in athletes helped us to know that we were doing the best thing to keep our daughter as healthy and as competitive as we could. The facility was a fun, friendly environment with state of the art equipment. Thank you Dr. Pengal and the entire staff at the Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine Institute! I will definitely recommend your practice to other families.

The Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine Institute has been a great partner for the Littleton Hockey Association. Parents, players and coaches have benefited greatly from the resources provided to us with regard to concussions. With the help of Karen Romero, The Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine Institute held an excellent seminar for Littleton Hockey’s coaches prior to the start of the 2011-2012 Season. The information we, as coaches, gained in this seminar has helped all of us recognize concussion symptoms. Additionally, we now know how to support a player suffering from a concussion and understand the consequences of an early return to our physical game.
Brooke Pengel, MD gave the presentation to the Littleton Hockey Association. Her work didn’t stop there. She has had constant communication with myself regarding players in from our program who are being treated by the Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine Institute. Her dedication to the safety of our Members does not go unnoticed.
Littleton Hockey will be looking to build upon our relationship in the years to come.

The doctors and staff at Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine Institute have ben an invaluable partner to our organization over the last two years. RMYSMI has provided concussion awareness and mitigation clinics for over 600 of our youth coaches as well as provided additional valuable experts in the areas of nutrition, hydration and dynamic warm up prformance. The information and services they have provided to our players and families has been nothing short of outstanding. The treatment and care our players have rceived once diognosed with a concission makes me realize how fortunate we are to have them in our community. Our continued partnership with RMYSMI will enable my organization to provide the education and awareness to our coaches and parents needed to ensure a safe and fun environment for youth sports. I cannot say enough what an asset Karen Romero, Dr Pengal and Dr McIvoy have been to my organization.

I just wanted to take a moment to express my extreme gratitude for the concern and care that you have shown my son and gone above and beyond and standard of care. It is people like you that make the difference. When the day is over our only legacy is the character and qualities that we have instilled in them and I am humbled that you have taken so much of your time to help my son.
Thank you very much.

Just wanted to thank Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine Institute for the all their help the past few years regarding concussions. Two years ago, the Doctors at the clinic were instrumental in training our coaches on signs and symptoms of concussions. These trainings were with our six high schools and ten middle schools in CCSD. This year Dr. McAvoy’s help with the Multi-Disciplinary Team training was excellent. This training was to work with our schools on their communication systems and roles/responsibilities as a member of a concussion team. Along with all the trainings, Dr. Pengel and Dr. Polousky have been a huge help as Team Doc’s for two of our high schools in the district for the past three years. I feel Rocky Mountain Youth Sports Medicine Institute commitment to the community has been excellent and is one of many great resources we use in the Cherry Creek School District.
